2019 report

One of three new projects to receive our support in 2019 is the unique Bedretto Underground Lab, where researchers are testing deep geothermal energy in southern Switzerland. Another new project is a world’s first: Project Palaeobiotechnology in Jena, where the team is sifting through early human history in the search for antibiotic medicines of the future. In the third project, the Werner Siemens Foundation is financing the establishment of the Centre for Cyber Trust at ETH Zurich, which officially opened on 13 December 2019. The 2019 report also provides information on progress made in other projects supported by our Foundation.
